I have seen a few free WP templates where footer.php has been encrypted… stops people removing their links and who knows what else… maybe controlling links remotely… allowing them to rent links out in your footer

I noticed a lot of people are creating WP tpls and including links to their commercial sites with the link text and other people who are putting affiliate links in the tpls.

I bet there are some people who also put hidden links in the pages too.

Any good developer should know that WP is a hackers wet dream. It would not be hard to release WP templates (which arent really templates but botched HTML and php – real templates should use some sort of tpl engein) and then insert some php in there for you to be able to insert links etc.

I learnt on Mavis Beacon too, although I never became a pro. I particularly remember dancing ants and flys splatting on a screen. However, I learnt how to type without looking at the keyboard most naturally. A few years of instant messaging and hardened programming and I have become a bit of a beast to.

I do however find that I can’t type very fast if I am thinking about typing and am more prone to mistakes. Its like tying your shoelaces.

There are still only 11 PPC and 10 natural (default) listings on the first page of Google…. the price is only going up!!

Despite what I read to the contrary about only “unique original content” being indexed etc… SPAM WORKS.

I look at top sites in competitive niches, drill into their backlinks, by the second tier it is all spam….

Spam is to Google what a plate of freshly cooked sausages is to a greedy dog….

People say that people buying links means less people spend less money with Google. I’m not so sure. More spam = more competition, so less SEO companies will take clients on for those keywords and/or fewer companies will take an SEO company on for the price they ask. All these people end up on AdWords paying Â£5.50 a click for ‘car insurance quote’.

We’ve used a few – Eclipse has a PHP plug-in (as Acopic says, Java-based and pretty slow – not ideal), which is free to download – and you can use Crimson Editor too, although Crimson is a little basic – a glorified text-editor, really!
