Review Me broker reviews on blogs, i.e. an advertiser can search a directory of blogs and choose one to advertise on.
The owner / administrator of the blog then receives notification that of the “Request for Reveiw” and decides whether to write the review.
Assuming they accept, then the blog receives around 50% of the revenue collected by review me.
Why would advertisers choose review me?
It is known that in terms of SEO:
- Links form related pages are more powerful than links from un-related pages
- One way inbound links are more powerful than reciprocal links
- Blogs not only get traffic from Google, but many also benefit from an RSS readership
This means that advertisers not only get the benefit of traffic from the blog, but are likely to see some benefit in terms of search engine optimisation.
Blogs are known to have good SEO properties, having a structural advantage over conventional sites.
Also, many blogs, like this one have plug-ins to automatically submit a sitemap to search engines, meaning their pages are almost guaranteed to get indexed.
When compared to other advertising mediums like Google Adsense, a review on a blog can be an attractive proposition:
- Adsense is pay per click, a review on a blog is a one off fixed cost
- Adsense is a temporary benefit, a review on a blog is likely to be a permanent asset
- Adsense is for sites with poor SEO, a review on a blog can help improve your SEO
- Adsense will not improve SEO, a review on a blog will
With reviews starting at $20 or $30 dollars they can be a very cost effective means of increasing search engine rankings.
Furthermore, they can be used to send highly targeted traffic to a site.
It will be interesting to see how well Review Me does over the coming years, but with millions of blogs in existence, and an increase in spending on on-line advertising things look promising.
